Puerto Escondido (also known as Puerto Loreto) is small coastal town in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. It is located at 28 km south of Loreto, on Federal Highway 1, overlooking Isla el Carmen in the Gulf of California. It belongs to Loreto Municipality.
French architect and urban planner François Spoerry built a neighborhood of Puerto Escondido.[1]
It is the home of "Coco" Nogales, who is Mexico's only known big wave surfer.[2]
